Whole New World

A whole new world has just been opened up to me. I had no idea (or didn't think of it, not sure which is the case) that you could create a little mini type invite sized as a 4 x 6 print and have it printed off at Wal-Mart. I will never do an invite again and just print it off on my printer. WOW!!! Simple, quick, and dang cute if I do say so myself. I made a 'Save the Date' type card for a church function (see below). I'm sure everyone already new this simple fact, but non the less, I was thrilled to figure it out!

Pumpkin Patch 2

Okay, I made some changes to the Pumpkin Patch layout. Which do you like better, 1 (first post) or 2? I think I like 2 better, but it's late and I'm not sure if I can see straight anymore! : ) Feel free to voice your opinion, it definitely matters, right?!?! Of course it does.

Pumpkin Patch

Here is my final layout for today. Wow, three in one day. This is the most I've done digitally in a day. I must say I'm a little impressed with myself! ; )

The kit used was by Sweet Blossom Designs by Sara entitled Natures Call. It's a great kit. Although, I just realized after taking a peak at her blog that I didn't download the 2nd part of her kit. So, I'm doing that right now.
This page may be changed or added to slightly. If so, I'll post the changes. We shall see........Good times!

Rain Go Away

Here's another layout I did today. The kit I used was Pink Lemonade from Stolen Moments by Amber and can be found here at Tagger's Scraps. I also used a template on this layout by Just 2 More Things. I don't know that I did it justice, but I kind of like the way it turned out!

Family Layout

Here's my latest and greatest layout that I completed today. The kit is from Stolen Moments by Amber entitled Days Gone By. The rafia bow on the picture was taken from a kit entitled Chocolate Covered Cherries by Digi-Designs by Nicole. I can't wait to actually use this kit, just waiting for the right pictures. It's a fabulous kit! Be sure and check them both out!

Believe it or not, I actually didn't use a template for this layout. I'm slowly but surely branching out and trying out my own inspiration. Can't stress enough how much I love Digital Scrapbooking!

Sunglasses Layout

Here is a layout I created using a template from Lindsay Jane Designs. I love this template, could be because I LOVE clean lines and this definitely has them. The paper kit is called Blue Jeans and it's from A Work in Progress Designs by Vicky. I am a sucker for anything with red in it. I think Red is probably my favorite color.

How To Get Started With Digital Scrapbooking

Okay, hopefully this will all make sense and will be helpful to you.

Picking a Program
You first need to pick a program to use to create your layouts in. I am using Photoshop Elements 5.0. They
do have a 7.0, but it's quite a bit more expensive than the 5.0. At Amazon, you can buy the 5.0 for about $40.00. You may be able to get it cheaper elsewhere. Just shop around.

Getting Started
Once you've got the program
you wish to use, I went to Shabby Shoppe and went through her video tutorial on creating your first layout. You can download the kit she used and actually put together the same layout as she does while you go through the tutorial. It was helpful! Below is the layout I created using her tutorial.

Next thing I did was just kind of play around. That wasn't helping me much. I then discovered templates! I love templates and am currently using them for almost everything I do. This helped greatly and helped me to feel more confident in producing pages that looked great.

Getting Started with Templates
The first template layout I did was from Deedoos-digital-scrapbooking. You can download her kit and template and she then walks you through each step. This was very helpful in putting together the below page.
Now, if you go to Misty Cato Designs, she gives helpful tips to adding your pictures to your layouts, which I didn't discover until not long ago.

To find Templates, you can google Digital Scrapbooking Templates and just search around. Or you can visit Scrapping with IkeaGoddess. She posts links to Free kits, templates, quickpages, and more.

Helpful Websites
The following sites are helpful and have tutorials that may be useful:
Shabby Shoppe
Misty Cato Designs
The Sprague Lab

I'm sure there are more out there. I'll add to the list when I find new sites.

There you have it. I think that's about what I know up to this point. Not much, but we'll get there together! Enjoy and can't wait to see your layouts on your blogs once you get started!

Welcome

Welcome to my new Blog created just for Digital Scrapbooking. I hope you will find something that will be useful to you.

I began digital scrapbooking about a month ago and have loved doing it. I'm trying to get enough pages to have a book printed for Annalise's birth mom for Christmas. I know she will cherish that!
The great thing is that once I've created a book, I can print it as many times as I would like to. This makes it great so I can give books to grandparents, Aunts and uncles, and even keep one. But, I've only had to do the work once! How great is that?!!!

Just a reminder that at Digi-Designs by Nicole you can download her Embellishments that go along with her "Celebrate" kit. Below is the layout I created using her kit. Very fun! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the Alpha portion of her kit.

I'm going to now put together a post on how to get started for those of you who have been asking. Keep in mind, I don't know all the ins and outs just yet, but hopefully will get there soon!
