Also, just to let you know, I along with 5 other lovely designers made it through the end of the Ginger Scraps Designer Challenge. Stay tuned as I get things set up to begin selling at Ginger Scraps. It may be a couple weeks as I get things moving along. I'll definitely be keeping my store at Stuff To Scrap as well. I am excited to be apart of both of these fabulous stores! Both shops are fabulous places to be hanging out at! I'm going to sit back, enjoy the ride and see where it takes me! Good times!

Ginger Scraps Designer Contest

Wow, what a crazy couple of weeks it's been. I made it on to the final round of the Ginger Scraps Designer Challenge. So completely surprised me. After seeing all the fabulous entries in round 3, I wasn't sure if I'd be one of the ones around for round 4--the final round. To my surprise, I am!

For round 4 we were given the theme of Fruit. Wow......that totally threw me for a loop. But, somehow I pulled it out. I was getting ready to package everything up, when the night before my sweet little 3 year old was up a lot of the night with an ear infection. Got her in the next morning to the Dr. to find out that sure enough, she had a flaming ear infection in her right ear. Needless to say, I wasn't going to be able to get anything done because she just wanted me to be next to her the whole day. So, I pulled out of the contest because I had to put my family first. There was no way I would make the deadline. But, the awesome Ginger gave me a little extra time to get it together! So, as soon as my sweet 3 year old fell asleep, I got to work. I then had to finish once my hubby came home. Anyway, here is the preview of my kit Cherry Limeade Squeeze.

Due to the crazy time of year, I only have a couple of examples to show you.

You can download the papers HERE and you can snag the elements from Ginger Scraps HERE. It appears that 4shared is having problems! Check back in a little while if it's still not working. Weird!!

Merry Christmas!

Just Wanted To Share

I just wanted to share with you something I came across today. I frequent the blog Summertime Designs. She is a wonderful designer and has fabulous kits. Today as I took a peak at her blog, I totally wasn't prepared for what awaited me. She has made a beautiful Christmas kit called Believe. She is offering it for free but asking for donations to help out a family. This young, sweet family lost their father recently in an accident that instantly killed him, leaving behind a very young family. I know it's a tight time of year with Christmas, but if everyone were to donate just a few dollars to this family, I know it would help immensely. Please go read about this family HERE.

Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Well, I made it onto round 3 for the Ginger Scraps Designer Challenge. Pretty stoked! There's some pretty tough competition out there! Hoping to make it onto the final round. Here's to hoping!

For round 3 we had to make a kit with no stock photos, no cu items other than shapes and textures for 15 of the elements. The kit also had to be based off of a book, song, or movie. Wow!! This was hard for me. anyway, I decided on the story Teach the Children which you can read HERE. It's a great story that brings Christ back into Christmas. It's a good one! Anyway, here is what my kit looks like:

Here's the Alpha:Here's what my CT did on such short notice:

Lina again

You can grab the papers HERE but the rest of the kit you need to snag from Ginger Scraps by going HERE along with all the other amazing kits! Enjoy and here's to hoping I'll make it to the next round!

Remember that Designer Challenge I've entered over at Ginger Scraps? Well, everyone made it to the next round! How exciting! This week we were to make a mini kit using only ONE color. I've always wanted to tackle this challenge, but it seemed a little daunting. So, this pretty much forced me to go for it. Take a look at what I came up with, Travel Through Time:

Here are a couple of layouts using this kit:
And here are some rub on date stamps I made to coordinate with this kit.
Here are some AMAZING layouts by my CT:

Tracy (she scraped this sweet picture of my sweet daughter) I know I'm partial, but I adore this layout!

Manda--My newest CT Member. Check out her blog HERE.

Here's mine. My mom had just sent me this picture of my grandparents from 1955. I thought it was perfect for this kit.
You can get this kit for FREE by going HERE. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!
